Karen Haase, J.D. Special Education Lawyer
Karen Haase is a principal in the law firm of KSB School Law, where she
focuses her practice exclusively on representing public school districts and
related entities. Prior to attending law school, Karen taught at both the high
school and post-secondary level.
Kari Oyen, Ph.D, NCSP
Dr. Oyen is an Assistant Professor of School Psychology for the University of
South Dakota. Dr. Oyen is actively involved in NASP as the central region
representative of the Government Professional Relations Committee. She is
looked to as a national advocate for the role of rural school psychologists.
Jennifer Cooper, Ph.D, NCSP
Jennifer Cooper will be joining the faculty of the School Psychology program at UMass Amherst in fall 2019. She previously served as an Assistant Professor and Co-Program Director of the School Psychology program at National Louis University in Chicago, IL. Her primary research and teaching interests focus on meeting the social-emotional needs of youth in schools, evidence-based mental health and behavior practices in schools, and training issues related to advocacy/social justice in school psychology.

Outstanding School Psychologist Award
Given to a current member of the Nebraska School Psychologists Association who demonstrates or has demonstrated contributions to the profession that are of exemplary status.
Founder's Award
Given to a current member of the Nebraska School Psychology Association who has been instrumental in establishing and strengthening School Psychology in Nebraska and/or who has made a significant contribution to building NSPA.
Service to Children Award
This award is given to those individuals outside the profession of School Psychology whose efforts and activities have made a substantial contribution to the lives of children.
